Long Island thermography most likely ranks among the most advanced on the globe. Thermography is the process of imaging, recording, writing or printing by help of heat. In printing version, special powders are placed on the papers and are heated to generate raised characters.

In thermal video or images and infrared thermography radiations are sensed by thermal imaging cameras which create images of the sensed radiations. The image referred to as a thermograph. The radiation have to be within a range of infrared electromagnetic spectrum.

According to the law of black body radiation, all bodies with a temperature of above absolute zero emit infrared radiation. This implies that most objects can be seen through this process without necessarily having visible light. Since the emitted radiation increases as temperature rises, one is able to see changes in temperature. This is more pronounced when looking through a thermal imaging camera where warmer objects are more clear that cooler ones.

Human beings, animals and other warm blooded organisms stand out clearly in the environment when viewed through thermal imaging cameras. Their functioning is not limited to time of day, whether day or night. This fact makes thermography very useful to military personnel or other people who use surveillance cameras.

The use of this technique has a long history but in the recent past, its use has drastically increased to high levels. It has many applications in various industries and fields. Government and travel point personnel use it to detect people suspected to be infected with swine flu. Fire department workers use them to have a clear view through smoke filled rooms to locate people and localize fire bases.

Joints and parts that overheat are can be located by technicians through this technique. Overheating normally indicates upcoming failures. Construction technicians also detect heat leaks in air conditioning systems through this same means. Changes in physiological state of human beings and many other warm blooded living organisms can also be monitored by use of this mechanism.

Emissivity is a word used to represent the capability of a body to emit radiation. Every body has its own emissivity. The range of emissivity lies between zero for completely emitting and one for completely not emitting. This value changes with temperature. Objects that can emit at their contact temperature are called black bodies. Emissivity is determined from a table of values from which one can refer to

Thermography has many advantages over the other imaging techniques developed today. It can capture objects in motion in real time. It can also locate deteriorating. This means that higher heat parts can be located prior to their failure. It does not have any side effects as a test method. Areas that are inaccessible can be observed using this method as opposed to others. Their disadvantage are that they are expensive and have an accuracy margin of two percent. They may also not show exact temperature levels of objects

Long Island thermography is highly advanced. Recordings made on video cameras can be analyzed to produce more detailed and informative content. The images can also be converted into other forms of images and video types.
